We are pleased to offer futures of our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2011 Sauvignon Blanc.  Release of these wines will be in the Spring at Winemaker discretion. 

2009 Red Mare Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon jumps out of the glass. Cherry dominates with cassis, plum and blackberry compounding to create a full and complex fruit profile. Below the surface, vanilla, caramel and clove are layered. Delicate aromas of oiled leather and pencil shavings deepen the wines aromatic experience. The mouth is luscious and full but driven by a bright acidity that focuses the wine. The tannins are round and soft leading into a lengthy rich and pleasing finish

2011 Red Mare Sauvignon Blanc

Our 2011 Sauvignon Blanc is still in barrel. The corp was very light in 2011 and as a result we have only an estimated 70 cases of this wine to share with you. It comes from a organically farmed vineyard owned by Tom Gamble just outside the town on Yountville. The location in the vineyard where we get our Clone 22 selcetion is very rockey and well drained. See notes from the 2010 Red Mare Sauvignon Blanc in order to anticipate the characteristics of this wine. It is tasting lovely at this time, and very similar to how the 2010. It was picked on 9/23/2011, 10 days later than in 2010 due to a late spring and a generally cool season. The acid is a touch lower in 2011 and the sugar was brought in at exactly the same level of 23 Brix.
